The Construction of Industrial Internet Requires a Cooperative Model
In recent years, facing the rising costs of labor, raw materials and environmental protection, as well as the pressure brought by the rapid improvement of manufacturing capabilities of Vietnam and other countries, Chinese manufacturing companies have increased their investment in the fields of information technology and automation in order to maintain their competitive advantage. The industrial internet, which emerged on the basis of informatization and automation acceleration, has become a valuable opportunity. The industrial internet implies both a technological and organizational change.
The development path of China’s industrial internet not only benefits from but is also limited by its own industrial development level and current status of internet development. It has many advantages such as huge market size and diverse market demands, and also faces many challenges. How can the government and the market truly form a joint force? From the perspective of industry insiders, the construction of China’s industrial internet especially requires the government and the market to establish a cooperative model.
Industrial Internet Development in China Picks up Speed
China is witnessing a rapid rise of the Industrial Internet. Although Germany and the United States have been the pioneers in this sector, and this concept represents a new trend in technology applications, these two countries have not acquired the scale and speed in this industry as they were expected.
Digitization, networking, and intelligence are the direction of industrial development. Promoting progress in product quality, efficiency of production, and change of dynamics are the original intentions of the Industrial Internet. But the innovation of the Industrial Internet is endless, and its full realization will be a long-term process, which requires a well-based foundation. To cope with the challenges encountered in the process of development, equal attention should be given to improving management capabilities and accelerating technological innovation.
Industrial Internet Will Benefit the Transformation of Manufacturing Enterprises
The industrial internet is taking off. It has become the focus of attention of various industries in different areas, and has drawn the attention of manufacturing companies.
The industrial internet, as its name implies, serves the industry and helps industrial enterprises develop. China’s industry is reaching an important phase of transformation and upgrading. As the largest industry, manufacturing is undergoing unprecedented major changes. In this information society, what is the status of the manufacturing industry and how does the industrial internet integrate with it? These complex questions urgently need to be explored. However, with the deepening of the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry, and the deep integration of the industrial internet and manufacturing industry has achieved practical results, China’s manufacturing industry will eventually achieve high-quality development and contribute to the goal of making the country even stronger.
Haier Launches COSMOPlat, an Open Platform for the Industrial Internet
After going through five stages of strategic adjustments, at the end of 2019, Zhang Ruimin, CEO and Chairman of Haier’s board of directors, announced that Haier has entered its sixth strategic stage.
At the same time, the external environment is undergoing fundamental changes. After several years of upgrading efforts, China’s manufacturing industry has encountered the industrial internet which provides unlimited possibilities to optimize the production processes and management processes of manufacturing companies, and even help stimulate their transition. In 2016, Haier launched COSMOPlat, an open platform of industrial internet. Zhou Yunjie, president of Haier Group, said that through COSMOPlat, the best resources in the society can be allocated to the best locations to generate added value, which in turn can be shared with relevant parties, so that the platform will grow larger and become more flexible. Zhou Yunjie recently had an exclusive interview with Caijing and gave a detailed introduction on Haier’s production and management reform.
