Shein, TikTok and Temu have ventured abroad in different ways, marking the first true global breakout for Chinese e-commerce platforms. The intensity of their competition has drawn attention to their business breakthroughs and global experiences.

Shein planned to expand from categories like clothing to a full-category platform, while TikTok explored e-commerce globally, hoping to replicate the growth miracle of Douyin's e-commerce. But they encountered Temu in the process of evolution. Launched just a year and a half ago, Temu is expected to achieve over $14 billion in Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) this year and has set a target of $30 billion for the next year.
